My Personal Ten Commandments

Inspired by a sudden epiphany concerning the meaning of life, a woman by the name of Gretchen Rubin made the decision to dedicate an entire year of her life to the pursuit and understanding of the mindset and emotion we call "happiness".  It was this epiphany that lead to the creation of her bestselling memoir, "The Happiness Project".  Among the book's collection of unique and inspiring chapters, Gretchen Rubin created a list of what she called her Twelve Personal Commandments.  It was this list that both moved and inspired me to sit down and not only create a similar list for myself, but to make the art of "Happiness" a lifelong project for myself as well.

My personal Commandments

1. Be Katherine Camsuzou
(Embrace who I am to the fullest)

2. Find My Joy
(Find the things that give my life meaning and bring me satisfaction and joy, and keep them ever present in my life.)

3. Let go of "perfection"
(Accept that the pretense of perfection is a sickness that consumes if we allow it to do so. Cast it aside.)

4. Be Here Now
(Live in the present, respectfully leave the past behind, and allow the future to come when it may.)

5. Honor what Is
(Accept reality, and allow yourself to flourish from it, rather than fight it.)

6. Seek Understanding and Enlightenment in all Things
(The expansion of your mind is what expands your Life. )

7. Choose Happiness
(Happiness is a choice.  Make it.)

8. Let it Be
(Recognize the things that cannot be changed, let go of them completely, and move forward.)

9. Love always
(There is no greater thing in the world then love.  When you open your heart and embrace everything around you with love, you give life meaning.)

10.
Recognize the Beauty in Everything
(There is beauty in every aspect of this world.  Take the time to open your eyes and see it.)
